Pediatric Occupational Therapy Services

Geronimo Occupational Therapy is excited to launch pediatric OT services. OT can assist children with a variety of skills including gross & fine motor skills, play & socialization, self-care and life skills, and focus & attention. At Geronimo OT, we want to help children and youth to participate in meaningful tasks. We aim to incorporate their interests and strengths in our approach to support their needs.

Assessment Areas

  • Fine motor and coordination
  • Sensory modulation/preferences
  • Visual motor integration
  • Functional Participation
  • Self-regulation

Intervention Approaches

  • Neuro-affirming practice: We strive to create an environment that acknowledges and supports the unique neurological needs and capacities of each child by focusing on their strengths to promote engagement and participation.
  • Educational consulting and capacity building: Collaborating with the child’s circle of care to foster skill development and equip them with tools and strategies to navigate their unique circumstances.
  • Direct intervention: Hands-on individualized therapy sessions to guide children through activities and exercises tailored to their specific goals and abilities.

Each child will undergo an assessment to help us understand their fine and gross motor, sensory, and school needs. Based on the assessment, caregiver interview, and input from community partners, an Occupational Therapist will develop goals to guide the treatment plan. The plan will be re-evaluated and updated periodically to reflect progress made and presenting challenges.
